It was a dazzling night for Allegro located in Winter Park. The team hosted an official grand opening gala. Highlights from the evening's Swanky Americana Delight produced by TJ's Designs & Events included fine hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, live entertainment from The Buzzcatz & UCF Faculty Jazz Band, and an exclusive tour of Winter Park's new premier senior living community. The evening benefited Honor Flight Network's Central Florida chapter.
"We are so very pleased to have the support of Allegro Winter Park and to be the beneficiary of this wonderful fundraising event. The proceeds will allow for us to continue our mission of providing Honor Flights to our most senior Veterans so that they can view and reflect at their memorials in Washington D.C. at no cost whatsoever to them," said Ed Riordan, chairman of Honor Flight Central Florida's board.
The company's executive leadership team presented a life-size check to Mr. Riordan & the rest of the organization's board during the peak of the event. Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization created solely to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. The organization transports veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans; World War II survivors, along with those who may be terminally ill. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, an estimated 640 WWII veterans die each day. There are over 27,272 veterans on their waitlist.
"We are pleased to provide them with a day of honor and appreciation for their sacrifices and service to our nation. Since they honored us with their service, it's our duty to return the favor. Our motto was coined by the legendary American Will Rogers who once said, “We can’t all be heroes, because some of us have to stand on the curb and clap when they go by." We appreciate Allegro for graciously joining us on the curb to honor our hometown heroes by making our mission possible," said Riordan.
