Intergenerational Multi-Media Rock Concert

Tallahassee, Florida - April 18, 2012

Allegro, Heritage Oaks and the FSU College of Music are proud to present the 5th annual Intergenerational Multi-Media ROCK CONCERT on Wednesday, April 18th at 7pm at the Tallahassee Senior Center. Enjoy an hour of classic rock performed by seniors from Allegro Heritage Oaks and students from the FSU College of Music. This intergeneration concert will feature rock music like you’ve never heard before ... including hits by The Beatles, Sister Sledge, Steppenwolf, Kenny Loggins, Joan Jett, Rod Stewart, Queen, James Brown, The Turtles and more!

This was a dream and creation of Dr. Alice Darrow after seeing trailers for a documentary on seniors called “Young at Heart”. She did not think she was nearly “hip” enough to do this by herself so she enlisted her students to help. The rest is history as this Rock of Ages has grown considerably since their first concert in 2008. More than 30 residents of Allegro will join volunteering students to create this exciting event! This event is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated to support the Tallahassee Senior Center. The Tallahassee Senior Center is located at 1400 North Monroe Street in Tallahassee.
