St. Louis Developer Announces Groundbreaking on Premier Senior Housing Community in Stuart

Stuart, Florida - October 29, 2009

Hallmark Senior Housing LLC, a St. Louis company specializing in the development and operation of senior housing and assisted living communities, announces the groundbreaking for their seventh property, The Allegro at Willoughby, which will take place on October 29. Located on a 9.97-acre site at the intersection of Aster Lane and Indian Street in Stuart, FL, the project contains 189 units with a total of 212,000 square feet crafted to provide state-of-the-art living for seniors.

While primarily catering to independent residents, separate wings of The Allegro are designed to accommodate aging-in-place for residents whose dignity and independence are best served with the availability of assisted living or memory care services.

An anticipated 14 month construction time frame would allow first occupancy in January 2011. Architectural design is provided by PQH Architects, based in Jacksonville. Total project cost exceeds $25 million.

The Allegro at Willoughby will evoke an intimate boutique hotel experience, according to David Kirkland, President of Hallmark Senior Housing. Other features will include a specially designed spa as well as the latest in theater and wellness opportunities.

"We look forward to becoming part of the local community," said Kirkland. "When studying in this market, we realized there was a significant need for upscale housing and service that is characteristic of our properties. We are fortunate to acquire the very best site in the region, a site that will only become better with the completion of the Indian Street Bridge."

"The property will provide elegant dining options, chauffeur service, 24-hour staffing, and an active social program," said Kirkland. When fully occupied, he anticipates hiring 60 full- or part-time jobs with an annual payroll over $1.2 million. "We choose our staff with care to exemplify the 'caring heart' philosophy that characterizes all Allegro properties."

Local assistance in the permitting and development process was provided by Land Design South, Captec Engineering, and the law firm of McCarthy, Summers, Bobko, Wood, Sawyer & Perry, P.A.

The Allegro at Willoughby will be managed by Love Management Company, Inc. For more information on The Allegro at Willoughby and other Allegro communities, visit www.theallegro.com.
